Joshua Deleonardis, 33, of Paeonian Springs, struck a Leesburg police cruiser that had its lights activated while the officer was assisting a disabled vehicle on East Market Street near Crosstrail Boulevard SE, around 11 p.m. Saturday, April 29, LPD spokesman Michael Drogin said.

The cruiser was unoccupied at the time of the crash and no injuries were reported. However, authorities warn a violation of Virginia's "Move Over" law is not only a crime, but the difference between life and death.

Deleonardis has been charged with DWI.
